Our Parish Office is open Monday - Friday from 9:00am - 6:00pm. It is closed on weekends.

  • What should I wear?

We believe that the human body is a beautiful and sacred temple of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19). As such, we value clothing ourselves in such a way that acknowledges and reverences the immense value of who we are as sons and daughters of God. We strive to foster a culture of modesty, that is, of glorifying God by living in accordance with our own dignity and the dignity of those around us.

One aspect of modesty is the way that we dress. As such, we recommend that parishioners and visitors at Our Lady of Guadalupe ensure that skirts and dresses end no more than 3 inches above the knee, that shorts provide full coverage, and that tops are not low cut and do not show mid-drift, and to avoid wearing skin-tight clothing.

For Sunday Mass, baptisms, weddings, and funerals, we recommend wearing your “Sunday best.” "Sunday best" attire may include modest dresses and skirts with nice tops for women, and button down shirts with slacks for men.

  • How do I get to Our Lady of Guadalupe?

Our parish is located at 900 W. La Habra Blvd. La Habra, CA 90631.   Here is a map.

  • Where should I park?

We have plenty of parking on site behind the church and more spots located on the blacktop behind the school, passing the gates. Handicap parking spots can be found next to the church building towards the exit.

  • Where do my children go?

We are blessed to welcome all families with children of all ages. If needed, we do have a "cry room" located inside the church for our children who need a little more extra space to listen to the Holy Liturgy. If you need help finding the "cry room," please ask and usher to direct you.

  • How do I know when to sit, stand and kneel?

There’s no need to be self-conscious about the postures and responses used during Mass. Most visitors just follow the lead of our parishioners. However, we do have worship aids located in each pew that provide you with the order of the mass, the postures, and the words of each prayer. If you don't see a worship aid in your pew, ask an usher, and they will be happy to bring you one.

If you would like to review the worship aid in advance, it can be found at the link below:

  • I’m not Catholic, is it okay for me to receive Holy Communion?

Communion, or the Eucharist, is the source and summit of the Catholic faith (CCC 1324). As Catholics, we believe that during the Mass the bread and wine truly become the body and blood of Christ, while still maintaining the appearances of bread and wine. As such, it is important that those who receive the Eucharist are in right relationship with God and in full communion with the Catholic Church.

We invite those who are not Catholic, and Catholics who are not properly prepared to receive the Eucharist, to join the Communion line and receive a blessing instead. To indicate that you will be receiving a blessing rather than the Eucharist, simply cross your arms over your chest when approaching the minister.

  • Am I expected to put money into the offering?

If you are visiting with us, we don't expect you to put money into the offering, and you are welcome to just let it pass you by. If you consider our parish your church home, we'd love for you to prayerfully consider giving to our parish on a weekly basis. You can give by check or cash during the Mass, or you can sign up for online giving here. Thank you in advance for your generosity.
