Jacelyn was born in Da Nang, Vietnam and lived there in her first 8 years of life. Although she grew up in the Catholic faith, it was not until college that she encountered Christ in a way that transformed every aspect of her life. It led her to dedicate the past decade to serving young adults, professionals, and families in schools and churches.
At UC Santa Barbara, she received her degree in Biological Sciences and worked in various ministries. There, she discovered her natural abilities to work with young adults and a deep love of evangelization while leading retreats, bible studies, and accompanying college students on their faith journey. Her own faith deepened during the Holy Weeks of 2016, 2017, and 2018. She journeyed to Honduras and Peru to serve alongside the Franciscan Friars of the Renewal, priests, and missionaries. Her time ministering to the poor living in remote villages taught her that knowing, loving, and serving Christ is a call not unique to priests and religious; it is a call for all in whatever state of life. That call led her to move to the South Bronx, where she lived and served from 2018 to 2023. She taught first and second graders, served as a catechist afterschool, led seminars for parents, and became a faith formation leader to young professionals.
Jacelyn now resides in Orange County, a place she calls home. She is an avid reader, runner, swimmer, and hiker. She enjoys painting, playing the guitar, and spending time with her niece, family, and friends. She is honored to serve Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish in reaching all young adults with creativity and joy for the greater glory of God.
